Winter walking is always worth doing as under winter conditions it is the one stage of the year when the whole landscape is radically transformed. Plus you get all the animal tracks and can appreciate how many of various species there are in any locality. Last and by no means least, cold conditions help walkers appreciate shorts and t-shirt summer walks.
