Once part of Chailey Pottery which operated on this former corner of South Common from the 1740s to the 1940s. The tile hung cottage beyond the bungalow is Tile Cottage and was once a building belonging to the former works whilst the lane was the former access onto the A275. Kiln Wood itself is the wood beyond the houses.
