The 1005 Liverpool Lime Street to Newcastle passes the then island platform at Mirfield. Once a large locomotive shed was situated just south of the station and when this picture was taken there was much dereliction around this site with demolished buildings and sidings that had been lifted. The view these days are somewhat changed.
