The tower of Bryansford's CoI church can be seen in the background. The original building was built by Lord Annesley around 1712. In the early 19thC it was enlarged and a tower added. In what is a predominantly Roman Catholic area (only 16% of the population of the Tollymore ward are classified by the Northern Ireland Census as being "Protestant and other Christians"), the church has never had a large membership.
