The station was closed in 1970 although the platform still remains and the station building is now a private house. The approaching train is the return "Cumbrian Mountain Express" a regular summer saturday steam excursion. On this occasion it is hauled by L.M.S. "Princess Royal" Class 4-6-2 No 6201 "Princess Elizabeth"
