Looking from Sorby Hall of Residence. The buildings in the foreground are part of the adjacent Earnshaw Hall; on the skyline, to the left of the building with the cranes, is the Hallam Towers hotel (later re-named Post House); whilst the lights of Sheffield city centre can be seen on the horizon, to the right of the photograph. Both Sorby and Earnshaw Halls have since been demolished; the site is now the Endcliffe Student Village.
