Cambridge's third light snowfall of the 2010-11 winter came late in the afternoon of 16 December. The next day dawned cold and remained so. The last house on the right, the bungalow and the big loft conversions in the two detached houses on the left (on Coleridge Road) typify the infill building and house extensions which have changed the look of Lichfield Road and other parts of suburban Cambridge in the last twenty or so years, when very high prices and the city's permanent housing shortage have made converting more affordable than moving, and building on parts of big gardens profitable.
