This was used by the Queen during her stays at Osborne from 1847 onwards. The bathing house ran on rails down to the bay. After being later used as a chicken shed, it was restored in the 1950s and is now an exhibit near the Swiss Cottage. To the right are the remains of the deckhouse of the Alberta, a steam yacht that was a tender to the Royal yacht, Victoria and Albert. The yacht carried Queen Victoria's body back to the mainland after her death at Osborne in 1901. The deckhouse was later used as a garden shed in Portsmouth until returned here in the 1970s.
