The post office on Westbank Road is now closed. Attempts to find out if it has moved or been completely culled as has happened in Elphinstone have been thwarted by endless out of date directory sites clogging up search engines. Macmerry was not amongst the closures announced in 2009. -- There is now a post office on Main Road (the old A1).
