This is the main East Coast route as seen looking towards Kings Cross from Wood Green station as it was known then. Later this location was named Alexandra Palace after the Palace which is nearby. The Brush built class 31 locomotives were used on the empty coaching stock and lighter freight services as seen here along the southern part of the ECML. This train conveys wagons which contain parts en route from Temple Mills yard in East London to the depot at Bounds Green behind the station.
