Disused quarry, Crackendale, Bakewell; there are several adits or entrances in this and another quarry about 200 yards away. These may be ventilation adits; it was so cold today that the air passing through was condensing.The other adits are in a south facing quarry; there was enough warmth in the sun to add to the warmer air underground; hence a movement of warmer air into the cold outside and hence, the condensation/ steaming.
