A pair of Class 20 locomotives based at the local Thornaby depot haul the empty Redcar to Redmire service past the east end of Middlesbrough Station on a dull Decembers day. At this time some raw products like limestone for the steel making at Redcar was obtained from the Redmire quarry and a daily service used to run. These are the empties en-route for loading with limestone.. The journey down the actual Redmire branch from Northallerton was rather slow. This particular flow finished on the 28th December 1992.
