Someone has taken pity on the public footpath sign for the path leading northwest on the northeast side of Gilling Beck, and given it a glove to protect its tip from the icy northeast wind. It's nice to see that public rights of way here are so cared for, and foot prints in the snow certainly indicate that this path is well-used, not only as part of a local circuit round the village, but also all the way to Hartforth.
