A medieval-style gateway in the grounds of St Mary's College, University of St Andrews. An evaluation was carried out to determine whether the gateway had formed part of a former medieval structure or whether it had been constructed as in the late 19th or early 20th century. Two test pits were dug at either end of the gateway and found no evidence of wall foundations thus concluding that the gateway was a Victorian or Edwardian folly.
