A viaduct on a railway line at Brookhouse. This is the South Yorkshire Joint Railway Line, a mineral line (passenger services ceased in 1929 after 19 years) running from Shireoaks to north of Doncaster. The committee formed in 1903, between the Great Central Railway (GCR), the Great Northern Railway (GNR), the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway (L&YR), the Midland Railway (MR) and the North Eastern Railway (NER). The line opened in 1909 serving several collieries.
