Looking southeast along the strip of heath on the eastern edge of the Crown lands of the New Forest, between the Hythe by-pass (on the left) and the Fawley Inclosure (on the right). The power lines and their pylons have their own "clear space" along this side of the forest, leading towards Fawley Power Station at Calshot. There are also oil pipelines buried in this strip, emanating from the Fawley Oil Refinery.
