This section of road from here to Halfway House in Kirkcowan Image and beyond to Newton Stewart is quite tricky to drive with several changes of camber and twisty bends, hence the Accident Area warning signs. On top of that black ice is common and very long loads of wind turbine blades commonly journey along the A75 and as you'd imagine don't bend too well on corners, thus requiring police escorts to stop all the traffic. A piece of the A75 to be respected just a bit more than the rest.
