Looking upstream from the Buckinghamshire bank towards the ancient bridge which still carries the A428 trunk road between Bedford and Northampton. The Great Ouse here forms the boundary between the historic counties of Buckingham and Bedford, and now separates the unitary authorities of Milton Keynes and Bedford Borough.
