This belonged to Bradford Corporation Water Works, who supplied Cleckheaton with water. Presumably this reservoir serves Scholes, which was part of Cleckheaton UDC (later Spenborough UDC). In the foreground it can be seen that there was an entrance between the stone pillars; the stonework and iron railings are different.
