View NW, towards Manton; ex-Midland Nottingham/Derby - Leicester - Melton Mowbray - Manton - Peterborough East line. The train is the Summer Saturday 09.55 Derby to Yarmouth (Vauxhall) express, with Hughes/Fowler 5P4F 2-6-0 (fitted with Reidinger poppet valve-gear), No. 42818. Walton Station (closed 7/12/53) is just visible in the distance. On the right is the East Coast Main Line, which runs parallel Peterborough North - Helpston but had no stations on this stretch.
