GJCCo refers to the Grand Junction Canal Company, the predecessor to the Grand Union. The company measured its canal from its Northamptonshire base, at Braunston in Northamptonshire, where it joined the Oxford canal and the Warwick and Birmingham canal. London was merely a destination.
