Amid considerable public opposition ("Oh no, not another Tesco" or "Another place for louts to buy cheap booze"), the former Borders store (see Image) will open as a Tesco Express in as little as ten week's time, by which time the premises will have been vacant just over a year. I'm sure the naysayers will boycott it even if they really need a quick pint or loaf.
