This is the Hornsey Parish Church of the combined parishes of St. Mary and St. George. It is located on Cranley Gardens. The land was originally given for a church by the ecclesiastical commissioners around 1900 but the first St. George church was built on land acquired by Dr. St.Claire Donaldson in Priory Road by the junction with Park Avenue South. The original church was badly damaged by bombing in 1940 and was subsequently demolished in 1956. This new St. George's was designed by Randall Morris. Built on the land the had been allocated for a church around 1900, it was consecrated in 1959. The building is made of brick over a concrete frame. Information from British History Online.
