This community college has been built immediately adjacent to the old buildings of Edlington Comprehensive, which are now completely demolished and the site reclaimed for sports facilities. At the point when the new building was to be occupied, in the New Year of 2009, the old building was entirely engulfed in a fire which caused the attendance of appliances from across South Yorkshire.
