Gunthorpe Road crosses the Nottingham - Lincoln railway at this level crossing by Lowdham station at the southern end of the village. The road is not very busy because most traffic uses the A6097 Lowdham by-pass which crosses the railway via a bridge. The former Midland Railway signal box is a railway modeller's dream.
