Pub on the corner of Risca Road and Bassaleg Road. The junction is also the western end of Stow Hill. Though not usually indicated on maps, the area around the pub is known as The Handpost, and several local shops include Handpost in their name. Closed facilities include the former Handpost branch http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1709563 of Lloyds Bank and the former Handpost post office. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1631975 On the left, waiting at traffic lights on Bassaleg Road, is a Stagecoach bus on service 151 from Blackwood to Newport.
