The first mention of the church at Oxenham was in 1153 when Geoffrey de Perci granted it to the monks of Jedburgh Abbey. Much renewal and renovation later took place until a new church, the present was built in 1738. More renovations took place in 1879 and 1954. (Ref : The Churches and Graveyards of Roxburgh -G.A.C.
