Of the three pubs that were until recently all active in the village, in many ways the New Inn seemed the most likely to end up being converted into a private house. But instead, that fate befell the Live & Let Live, leaving the Chequers as the sole surviving pub. However the New Inn has re-emerged as an upmarket Indian restaurant. The building has been much altered and extended in the process.
