View westward just west of Churchdown Station, towards Gloucester, Bristol etc. This Paignton - Nottingham Summer Saturday express was headed by No. 92106, a BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 - useful on passenger expresses at busy times as they were capable of running smoothly at high speeds. The Joint GW and Midland line between Gloucester and Cheltenham was widened to four tracks in World War Two, but reverted to two tracks in the 1960s;
