'Awakening' sculpture in Roper's Garden

By sculptor Gilbert Ledward (1888-1960). Roper's Garden was constructed on the site of buildings destroyed by a parachute mine on 17 April 1941. The site formed part of the marriage gift of Thomas More to William & Margaret Roper in 1521.
