The Inglis Memorial Hall was commissioned by Lieutenant-Colonel Robert W. Inglis, then Head of the London Stock Exchange, as a memorial to his parents (his father, also Robert, was the Church of Scotland minister for Edzell and Lochlee) and the hall was constructed during 1897 and 1898.
