The lodge cottages at the entrance to the Burn estate taken from near Gannochy bridge. The Burn estate was gifted in 1948 to Goodenough College by the late Mr & Mrs Herbert Russell in memory of their son James, who was killed in action in 1944 aged 21. The Burn mansion house which was built in 1791 is a holiday and study centre for students, graduates and academic staff from around the world.
