This popular meeting place at the heart of Streatham was originally part of Tooting Bec Manor Estate. The Dyce Fountain was moved here in 1933 from Streatham High Road. William Dyce RA was a fore-runner and teacher of the pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, he painted The Baptism of Ethelbert in the House of Lords and the Madonna and Child which featured on one of the 2007 Christmas stamps. The spire behind belongs to the Catholic church of the English Martyrs.
