Ordsall Hall is a formerly moated Tudor mansion. Although there has been a house on the site for over 750 years, the oldest parts of the present hall were built during the 15th century. The house was bought by Salford City Council in 1959, and opened to the public in 1972, as a period house and local history museum. It is currently closed whilst restoration work is carried out The hall is a Grade I listed building. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordsall_Hall Wikipedia article http://www.visitsalford.info/restoration.htm Ordsall Hall restoration details
