Head a little north up West Street before turning west into Russell Road and a little way down north into Russell Place a non descript service road for Churchill Square. St Paul's was built between 1846-48 by RC Carpenter for the Reverend HM Wagner father of Arthur Wagner who built many other churches during the Victorian period. Originally serving the lost community buried under Churchill Square as well as holidaymakers heading from Brighton Station down West Street to the beach.
