The maize appears to be growing strongly, despite weeks of well above average summer temperatures and lack of any appreciable rain. The farm track on the left of the image, leads to Barn Farm. Grove Wood can be seen in the background to the right. The parallel transmission lines carry electricity from the National Grid facility at the former Drakelow Power Station, which closed in 2003.
