The relief inscription reads: Bunkers Hill The enclosed ground was presented to the Town of Macclesfield as a perpetual open space in memory of Francis Dicken Brockenhurst, Esq. J.P. D.L. of Hare Hill who died on the 4th day of October, 1905.
