Thomasine Bonaventure, a local shepherdess, was taken to London by a rich merchant, Richard Brunsby, as a ladies maid. On his wife's death, and with her blessing, she married him. Widowed, she then went on to marry another two Lords who both later died. Returning to Week St Mary as Lady Bountiful she built a free school and founded a chantry in this church. You couldn't make it up!
