This imposing building was, according to the 1975 Kelly's Directory, Electric House, the district office and showroom of the Southern Electricity Board. The clock on the corner does still have its hands, although with the reflection of the sun they are not all that apparent in this picture. Nevertheless they have been stuck in the half past four position for many years. The road off to the right is Image
