On the Cumbrian Coast line, looking in the Maryport direction. Between the end of the platform and the road bridge is a signal box, with the name "Workington Main No 3". Before the closure of other local railways, this station was called Workington Main. Shortly after this photo was taken, it was announced that £700,000 would be spent in the near future on improving the station and signal box http://www.timesandstar.co.uk/news/other/workington-train-station-makeover-1.758935?referrerPath=1.135736 , which indeed look a bit shabby.
