This junction has been substantially altered in recent years as a result of a new bypass avoiding the only set of traffic lights between the M4 and M5 motorways. Note the metal lattice supports for the sign, designed to crumple easily in a collision in contrast to the tubular steel posts previously used (see, for example: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2088179). On the other hand, that large steel sign is just as heavy as before if it falls on you!
