Built in 1841 of white brick with a magnificent spire, 178 feet tall. Struck by lightning in 1871 and rebuilt a year later. At the corners of each stage of the tower are turrets with conical spires. If it were not for the saving grace of the tower the rest of the building could easily be mistaken for a Victorian village hall (with an attempt at the Early English style). Externally the church building has little of interest. Internally the story is a familiar one. The church was endowed by the Marquis of Bristol and quite naturally is fitted out in a Victorian fashion.
