Here the flood barrier works are fenced-off from the footpath that crosses the railway and heads across the nature reserve to the Trent. When a vehicle needs to cross along the bank they sound their horn and a worker emerges from this shed to open and close the gates. When I took this picture I thought that it was empty, however as I crossed the railway a van approached from the west and out-he-popped.
