Junctions 15 and 16 (for the M4 and A38 respectively) are so close that a "collector lane" runs parallel to the main carriageway. This enables conflicting manoeuvres between M4 to M5 traffic and that leaving the M5 for the A38 to be kept away from the M5 proper. There is a similar, longer arrangement on the M5 around Bristol between junctions 18 and 18a http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2080900.
