View northward, with the ex-North British Edinburgh - Glasgow main line beside the Shed; J88 0-6-0T No. 68354 and J36 0-6-0 No. 65275 are prominent. The Depot provided motive power for many of the local lines and yards in the area. Three years before in 1954, the Depot (coded by BR 64E in the St Margaret's District) had an allocation of 42, comprising:- 2 2-6-0s (LMS Ivatt type), 24 0-6-0s, 5 4-4-2Ts, 3 0-6-2Ts, 6 0-6-0Ts and 2 0-4-0Ts. It was closed in 5/64.
