A Margate bound train made up of class 411 electric units passes the level crossing connecting Willesborough with South Willesborough. Following the construction of the Channel Tunnel high speed rail link, this level crossing has gone, replaced with a pedestrian/cycle tunnel. The class 411's, originally referred to as 4-CEP units, have also gone. Introduced in 1956, they were to continue in service until as recently as 2005 in refurbished form and formed the mainstay of Kent express services for much of that time. 7104, the unit in this photo, was the last of the original 4 prototypes built in 1956.
