View northward towards the River Tees, east of Middlesbrough Station; one of three turntables which was exposed by enemy air attack in World War II. Middlesbrough Depot served much of the massive freight demands of the local industry and associated railway yards, also the local passenger services. Coded 51D in the Darlington District, it had an allocation of 64 locomotives in 1954:- 19 0-8-0s, 7 0-6-0s, 7 LMS-type 2-6-0s, 7 4-6-2Ts, 8 2-6-2Ts and 17 0-6-0Ts. Featuring here are:- V1 2-6-2T No. 67677, J39 0-6-0 No. 64756 and LMS Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 No. 43074. The Depot closed on 31/5/58.
