Rush hour passengers wait to board an arriving train for Glasgow on the east bound platform. Above the British Rail standard station name is an orange plate proclaiming Strathclyde Transport, local services being operated on behalf of Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive which coordinated bus and rail transport in the area during the 1980's.
