The hall, which started life as a Bishop's palace still retains the 13th century first floor. Bishop Herbert de Losinga gifted the palace to the priory of Norwich in 1100. It remained in church hands until the dissolution in 1450 when it was sold to Edwards (later Lord) North. The palace was converted to a hunting lodge, surrounded by the large Deer park well stocked by Herbert de Losinga. It is now open for tours and as a B&B. http://www.southelmham.co.uk/
