The ground floor of Smedmore House and its gardens were open to the public over the weekend of Sep 4/5 2010 in aid of the Friends of Swanage Hospital. A brief account of its history and of the Dorset family who have lived in it can be viewed here Image It is believed this will be the last time this beautiful house will be open to the public for the foreseeable future.
